For over twenty years Jefferson Hospital has been successful in providing a wide array of health care services. With almost 2000 individuals working there, the hospital is the largest employer in Jefferson Hills. Jefferson Hospital is a part of the South Hills Health System. An Acute Care Hospital, Jefferson includes an Emergency Center, an Outpatient Surgery Center and a Sports Medicine Center. South Hills Health System includes an additional emergency facility at Homestead Emergency & Family Medicine Center (located in Homestead, PA) counseling services at the Counseling Center, home care through South Hills Health System Home Health Agency, and hospice care at Family Hospice, Inc. The organization is also closely affiliated with several other health care operations, including the Jefferson Radiation Oncology Center and the South Hills Magnetic Imaging Institute. In addition, the South Hills Health System invests strongly in the wellness of local citizens. They provide Health Screenings, including flu shots for senior adults, over 100 educational programs annually, and presentations at community events.
